Rubileo was designed to illustrate the fabulously avant-garde birthday party of an American Singer/ Songwriter, in the stunning wine region of Italy. Hand drawn typography, bespoke illustration, raw collage and bold neon colors are juxtaposed with edgy, reportage style photography to convey the authenticity and perfection with which this important event was executed. Custom foil blocking and a textured, hand-stitched open spine come together in the cover to represent the meeting of these forward thinking subjects with the old-world classicism of Italy.

 

Capturing their hedonistic journey through vineyards and palazzos, we tell the story of one amazing day of festivities as the revelers carouse their way through a guided tour of St Francis of Assisi, a pool party, and an elaborate evening drag show, all to the sounds of their personal traveling DJ who accompanies them pretty much everywhere. Goldie, the gigantic blow-up unicorn plays a lead role in the narrative, and sets the tone for our design concept as she floats regally, and in juxtaposition to, her classic surroundings.
